Windows XP freezing during startup is a common issue. Progress bar freezes in non-safe mode but boots normally in Safe Mode. Graphical boot disabled in Safe Mode shows no drivers, appearing as a blank screen. GPU driver seems to trigger the freeze after fan adjustment. Possible cause: GPU driver. Consider removing hardware requiring drivers, such as sound cards or graphics cards, before powering off. Alternatively, try deleting and reinstalling the GPU driver manually. Also, be cautious with downloading programs from external drives, as they can introduce conflicts.

Currently functioning well after a short period, no problems detected. Using the Gigabyte GA-M51GM with the latest BIOS (version F16?), running an Athlon 64 3200+, featuring a PCIe 6800 graphics card, 2 GB of RAM, and two 750 GB SATA HDDs for RAID setup and booting.
