Search for the appropriate Wi-Fi adapter that matches the network you want to monitor. Special equipment isn't necessary for capturing network data.

M.Yurizaki has the right point. You don’t require specialized hardware for packet sniffing. Based on what I understand, most adapters work in promiscuous mode unless you specifically need to capture handshakes via interrupt packets—then compatibility varies. The best tool is software, and Wireshark is widely used. Therefore, any adapter should suffice depending on the transmitter you’re using. I’m not familiar with yagi antennas.
