You're having trouble with internet access despite the connection being active. When you press the icon, it seems to work, but you still can't connect to Steam or other services. The issue might be related to Chrome behaving unexpectedly. You're also able to browse websites normally and YouTube works, which suggests the problem is specific to certain apps or settings.

Your concern is clear. Edge functions properly, but Chrome causes issues. I suggest removing Chrome and then reinstalling it.

Edge functions properly, nothing else does. I’m having trouble starting Steam or the Epic launcher. I reinstalled Chrome, which is another problem I can address later. It’s not been working all day.

However, the edge feature isn't functioning properly. Most Microsoft resources and are accessible, but several sites are broken, particularly with download redirects.

The most recent time everything functioned properly is unknown. You might consider performing a System Restore to revert to a previous stable state. Your smart cat suggests looking for the System Restore option—good luck, and please share the outcome afterward.

It functioned properly before. Recently, the downloads became unusual, and now the only output is "identifying.. internet access."

In the worst situation, you can always perform a Windows reset. It retains all your files while providing a fresh operating system. You’ll need to install games and applications afterward. If you prefer not to do this, simply restart your system and revert to a previous backup 3 or 4 days ago.

It's still being tested, but it should not remove the USB network adapter's drivers or software.

The latest version of Windows 10 includes drivers that aren't essential. For a 2012 system, you might want to add the audio drivers if your device uses built-in sound.

I didn’t get the installation to happen on its own; I needed to use a disk reader manually.
