Uncertain about the optimal choice for an FPS?
Let’s compare the options and see what works best.
Give them a shot, compare which one suits you better. You might see that X fps performance varies with your unique brain and eye setup. Unless there are obvious delays or jitter, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all ideal.
If you prefer avoiding tearing or lack a variable refresh rate display, I'll secure the frame rate. When you don't see tearing and you have a VRR monitor with a higher refresh rate, keep it enabled. Even in fast-paced games, personal comfort matters more than technical specs—individually, I'd consider tearing a bigger issue than latency differences, while some competitive players might prefer the other way around.
