Can't overclock my GTX 1050ti?

Alright so I recently bought this video card expecting an upgrade, but It won't let me overclock it.
When I trying overclocking the GPU in MSI afterburner, it shows that the overclock is applying, but it doesn't actually effect my gpu at all.
Any fixes to this? :/

It increases when necessary. When you're idle or just watching YouTube, it doesn't require another 150 mhz. Running Unigine Heaven and OCCT (along with other programs) can help determine stability. My understanding of this topic is quite limited, so please don't rely solely on my perspective.

I mean it doesn't really have an impact on me, such as when I'm in idle mode.
