I7 6700k
AsRock Z170 Gaming 6
Noctura NH D14 (HeatSink)
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz
If I turn on XMP in BIOS, PC starts but crashes when watching YouTube and pressing OC mode in BIOS – PC won’t boot.

Thanks pc4life, you clarified exactly what I already understood and read. It seems you might have skimmed my questions instead of reading them carefully, and copied something from a long time ago without realizing I was asking something new. You clearly didn’t grasp what I needed. LOL.

Run the stability test with memtest86+. Typically, you'll XMP RAM in BIOS, boot into it, and check for errors. You should likely notice some issues.

I tried memtest 86+ but it won't boot. However, I managed to overclock the CPU to 4.6MHz at 1.3v and the RAM is stable at 2666 MHz, though it becomes unstable at 3000MHz. I need help setting the voltage to adaptive.

I faced a comparable issue with my RAM, which is rated at 3.0GHz but isn't stable. I couldn't enable the XMP setting on my motherboard, so I had to adjust it manually to 2.8GHz.

I understand how to adjust the offset voltage since I previously set it to 1.3V and later switched to offset mode. However, when configuring the offset mode voltage, I couldn't include a decimal point, so I mistakenly chose auto and running Aida64 was dropping from 0.800 to 1.48. I stopped it right away and am now back in fixed mode. Also, fixed mode might harm the CPU at that voltage or reduce its lifespan over time, so I need to keep raising the voltage to maintain stability. Someone smarter must know how to handle this.

Do you know how to adjust the voltage offset? I had it set to 1.3V in fixed mode, then switched to offset mode but couldn’t enter the decimal setting, so I mistakenly chose auto and noticed the Aida64 was dropping from 0.800 to 1.48. I stopped it right away and returned to fixed mode. Also, Fixed mode might harm the CPU at that voltage or wear it down over time, so I have to keep raising the voltage to keep things stable. Someone smarter should know how to handle this.
