Hi,
each time I attempt to overclock my Samsung monitor, I receive the message: "not optimum mode recommended mode 1920x1080 60hz." Is there any way to exceed this limit or is there no option to increase it further? Thanks in advance.

i ran a nividia msi gtx 970, but when trying to open it through nvidia's control panel or with CRU I encounter the error. If you attempted this, setting a custom resolution under that option suggests your monitor's firmware is blocking it. This issue also affects my Samsung 25.5" 1920x1200 display, but not my Samsung 22" 1680x1050, Dell 27" 2560x1440 models.

I believe most Samsung monitors aren't suitable for overclocking. Even if some models allow it, you'd likely already know about it. Just search the model number online to see what's available.

I don't specify whether you use a dedicated video card or if you're relying on built-in graphics from Intel or AMD. Nvidia's driver settings for video cards offer a manual option to adjust resolution and MHz speed. I think AMD's drivers likely provide a comparable feature. I'm not sure about Intel's onboard graphics driver, but I wouldn't suggest exceeding 75Hz initially. Also, be aware that many monitors struggle with overclocking and may show worse performance than their standard 60MHz setting (like frame stutters or artifacts).
