The previous motherboard (MSI Z170 SLI +) failed and is now under RMA. I received a Gigabyte Z170 HD3 to keep things running, but at the OEM, I wasn't able to get close to the same performance boost. What might be causing this?

Possible reasons include VRM issues, system agent voltage settings, different BIOS versions—there could be many factors involved. Some boards require higher voltages for the same clock speed, while others might need adjusted settings like system agent voltage or LLC. Even identical manufacturers can have slight differences. It’s just how it works.

Possible reasons include VRM issues, system agent voltage settings, different BIOS versions—there could be many factors involved. Some boards require higher voltages for the same clock speed, while others might run at the same voltage but need adjustments to system agent voltage, LLC settings, or adaptive voltage. Even identical manufacturers can have slight differences in performance. It’s just how it works.
