Recently assembled a fresh system, yet I'm facing just one problem that doesn't quite satisfy me. Even though the motherboard and RAM both claim support for 3600mhz, I can't actually reach that frequency or encounter boot loops until the BIOS enters safemode or defaults. In reality, anything above 3000mhz leads to looping. I thought updating the BIOS would help, but it didn't. It's worth noting the RAM isn't listed on the vendor's approved options. There are similar choices available, albeit with lower capacity. Unfortunately, the vendor doesn't have any suitable 64GB+ sticks right now. So, my choices are limited—I have to accept 3000mhz or look for a different solution. Will I have to upgrade later if a future BIOS release fixes this, or is there another way forward? ASUS Prime x570-pro https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S...UTF8&psc=1 Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 64GB (2x32GB) DDR4 3600 https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B081...UTF8&psc=1 Thanks for your time

You're checking how to achieve 3600Mhz speeds—whether using a DOCP method or manual overclocking.

Which processor is used? The 2x32 configuration isn't straightforward for Ryzen to handle, so increase the SOC voltage to 1.1 and DRAM voltage to 1.35 before attempting to boot at 3200 with XMP/DOCP activated. If it works, try 3600; otherwise, the gains are minimal and you're not missing much.

If the RAM isn't on QVL, it's unlikely to function properly. You can adjust the DRAM voltage to 1.45V and see if it starts up. If it doesn't boot at that voltage, it's probably a faulty unit.

It will function, but QVL categories often lack clarity since they can't evaluate each conceivable option.

Opened the BIOS settings and switched the frequency setting from Auto to 3600. I haven’t fully explored DOCP yet, but I might check later. My processor is a Ryzen 9 3950x. I should have mentioned it in my original post. I’m willing to try this change. Your detailed explanation helped a lot! Is the gap between 3600 and 3000 actually small? I’m new to this, though—I believe RAM speed does impact performance on Ryzen systems.

The Ryzen 3000 series can handle up to 3200mhz. Exceeding that requires overclocking. Using 32GB RAM won't suffice for dual-rank performance at 3600mhz on a Ryzen IMC. It's unlikely without adjustments. Consider aiming lower for better results.

The DOCP configuration determines how the system boosts to those high speeds. Choose DOCP or XMP based on what your BIOS supports, then observe the results.

Not really no. I have 4 ram kits from Gskill and none of them work on my x570 Aorus Master. None of them are on QVL, they refuse to boot past 3200 mhz even though they are listed at 3600 mhz. I borrowed a kit from someone that WAS a matching QVL kit, worked first try without an issue. Ryzem Ram is Fucking trash, I honestly hoped it would be better at this point but its still super finicky. If its not on QVL for Ryzen on the motherboard, theres really no point in buying the ram because it probably wont work, and even if you do get QVL ram, it may not work properly either
