You're experiencing overheating concerns when using both CPU and GPU at high loads. It seems your laptop struggles to manage the heat under those conditions. The recent Xbox One download might be contributing to the issue. Consider monitoring temperatures or adjusting settings.
It's not their fault if the game is tough and your laptop struggles to keep up. If your machine has a GPU boost, consider using it to reduce the number of rendered frames or lower the settings slightly—even a small underclock might help. I haven’t owned a gaming laptop like the XPS15, so I’m unsure if it’s designed for that level of cooling. It’s definitely not ideal, though.
I'm not holding the game responsible. I'm just disappointed my laptop can't cope. The XPS 15 stands beside the 13, acting more like a powerful workstation than a gaming machine. It's decent for its purpose because of its 45-watt quad-core processor and 960M RAM, but the cooling system isn't strong enough to handle both the CPU and GPU at full capacity with shared heat pipes.
I’m enjoying what I’m seeing so far. It feels quite similar to destiny, yet it has its own unique story. I appreciate destiny, but the game didn’t inspire me much to play. I’ll definitely try it again eventually—maybe at launch or later. Not sure if I’ll grab it right away.
