So, I have a prebuilt asus pc with SK Hynix memory, when i load into BIOS I do see a xmp window. But when i press it it only shows a disable button. I cannot enable it whatsover. I want to purchase a new kit of memory but i'm not sure if its a motherboard, or a memory issue. If anyone could help me discover if this is a motherboard issue or a memory issue it would be greatly appreciated. Also, it also shows the memory is running at 1600Mhz? I've never seen that with a DDR4 kit

. I've also tried chaning the frequency myself. While it does show 3200Mhz in task manager. It still says 1600Mhz in CPU-Z.

Displaying 1600mhz indicates it operates at 3200mhz because it uses double data rate (DDR) memory.

You are currently in EZ mode, but the system is transitioning to Advanced mode. Adjusting the advanced memory configuration and enabling XMP will determine what is being done. It's unclear without your hardware details, but it seems the CPU speed you mentioned might already meet JEDEC standards for the default memory rate, so XMP may not be necessary. Instead, it will apply other settings from the XMP profile, such as timing and voltage preferences. Additionally, the specific DIMM slots used for memory installation can significantly impact performance.

I've searched for the xmp option in advanced mode even before posting, but I wasn't able to locate it. It seems it might not be available. I have an i7 11700KF processor. Regarding the RAM, I know it's a SK Hynix kit; there isn't any label on the sticker I removed for inspection. The power supply is a 750w 80 plus gold certified unit. I couldn't see the manufacturer since the sticker is mostly hidden by the hard drive bay. I also have an RTX 3070 Dual from ASUS.

Looks like either ASUS has disabled XMP support in that BIOS, as it's a custom board design specifically for ASUS prebuilt systems, or those SK Hynix modules simply do not have an included XMP profile because I can't find any evidence that they have one.
Regardless, I see no red flags on userbenchmark, not that that means much unless there are major problems evident which there don't appear to be, and it seems to be running at the correct speed anyhow so I would not worry about it further.

as previously mentioned, your memory is already at 3200. You may have to input speed and settings yourself. I was seeking a link rather than a copy since the link would display the motherboard.

The motherboard in question is G35CG, an ASUS OEM model. These typically offer restricted BIOS settings, yet the presence of the enable XMP button suggests these SK Hynix memory chips lack an XMP profile. Instead, they follow a JEDEC standard at 3200mhz, which aligns with the CPU's native support, eliminating the need for an additional XMP profile. This configuration works as intended.
