Hey guys, I recently assembled a PC using a Pentium G3258 and an MSI H97M-G43 motherboard to try some overclocking. Unfortunately, I didn’t do enough research beforehand and ended up realizing I couldn’t overclock the processor at all. I’ve heard about an unofficial BIOS update that might help, but I’m unsure if it’s reliable or safe. I’m curious if anyone has used this unofficial update successfully and whether there are other methods to achieve the same result on this board.

You can increase the clock speed of the g3258, but it's the only Pentium model that supports this feature. However, because the motherboard is locked, you won't be able to do it.

Just one more thing—can I trust this bios will function correctly and not cause any issues?
Yes, it should work fine. I really doubt Toms would link to it if it was completely broken.

Also please let me know which BIOS version you're using right now. MSI might offer an official BIOS that supports overclocking at the moment. They also provide a Windows overclocking program for your board.
