Gained the equipment just to examine 35mm film negatives. Knew Canon didn’t provide a Win 10 driver, so used a suggested alternative from Canon support. Started successfully but later lost access to the TWAIN interface and film scanning features. Have any comparable issues or solutions?

Have you explored VueScan?
It works with the Canon 4400F and allows film and slide scanning through its software interface.
The only drawback is that it's free to try, though it may require payment for continued use.

Hi, I've already tried VueScan, but getting the full version seems not worth it.
