cannot adjust the central frequency setting
cannot adjust the central frequency setting
I am just starting with overclocking and facing difficulties. I'm attempting to boost the i5 8600k to about 5ghz via Asus AI Tweaker in BIOS, but after checking some YouTube guides, adjusting the core frequency always brings it back down to 4.3ghz. Any advice would be really helpful.
When you mention "it always drops back to 4.3ghz," it suggests the device reaches 5GHz and then reverts. This could indicate several possibilities. Your preferred power plan in Windows might be adjusting speeds to match demand. It might also reflect insufficient cooling, causing the CPU to throttle to avoid harm. If it never hits 5GHz initially, more details about your BIOS settings would be necessary.
