I recently purchased a used 256GB M.2 SSD and checked their site for cloning Windows before buying. It seems the software doesn’t detect the disk, though I’ve installed games there. I’m considering a clean Windows install—either fresh or cloned—and don’t want to re-download my favorite programs. A regular search didn’t help; only EasyUS shows up with bad reviews and no free option. I’m open to either cloning or a fresh setup. For backup, I need a free online cloud solution. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I recall I saved my Windows onto various drives using MiniTool Partition Wizard—it was free and performed all the tasks properly.

Make sure there are no power interruptions or anything that could stop the copying process!

Make sure that you have enough space on it, because if you don't it wont let you copy, and you'll have to wipe the other drive that you copied from, because 2 windows OS with the same key don't work well...

You may need to reduce the size of your volume. The application you're using could handle this automatically.

A new setup would involve restarting your PC through the recovery options. You’d have the choice to pick the desired drive for installation.

I'm not entirely certain about this. If I had to estimate, I'd say no—reset is only available for the drive where Windows is currently installed. You'd need to install Windows from a blank CD or USB drive. The tool from Microsoft is at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software.../windows10
