I'm not sure where to place this, but I built a Minecraft server for me and my boyfriend. We can connect, but he can't when I share his IP. He gave me the IPv4, but it didn't work. I changed it in the server settings to IPv4 too, but it still didn't connect. I'm using the official Java version from their site. Sorry for the unclear explanation.

Your IP address comes from your local network device.

I searched online for your IPv4 address but found no network card detected. Your system might not have a connected network interface.

You likely need to redirect certain ports through your router configuration. Since I haven’t played Minecraft, I’m unsure which ports are used. This guide could assist you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X75GbRaGzu8

Sure, I recall adjusting the settings on my router earlier. Thanks!

I’m trying to avoid revealing anything that might expose my system, but I’m still confused about the process. It’s hard to know where to begin without understanding it better.

This material could be useful for you, as each router manufacturer and version may vary.
