The laptop has allocated 2.1 GB from its 8 GB capacity due to AMD Vega 8 Graphics, leaving only 5.6 GB available. I checked online for solutions but found no effective methods to unlock the advanced settings. Would you like me to explore alternative approaches or clarify something else?

You're welcome on the link, but I'm curious about accessing the advanced BIOS settings to adjust the UMA buffer size.

The question about adding 8 GB RAM and its effect on reserved memory is unclear. The expected usable memory is around 13.9 GB, but details are missing.

You have only one memory stick installed, so adding an 1x8GB SODIMM would bring the total to 16GB. The iGPU will still consume around 2.1GB, leaving you just under enough capacity. Despite this, the current stick performs poorly with high latency and slow speeds (2400MT/s). If you can spare the cost, upgrading to a 32GB stick—preferably 3200MT/s—would be beneficial. Switching to dual-channel memory will boost performance, and Windows may start throttling usage when it reaches 50-60% and then more at higher levels. On my setup, I run over 20GB with about 60 tabs open in Chrome.
