Can I switch to purchasing a 32GB total instead of 16GB? If that's not possible, I should opt for the two 8GB units you mentioned and follow my previous advice. Obtain the new 8GB drives, replace the old ones, swap them into their respective slots, and then reinstall the previous ones. Check if the system boots and functions correctly. If it does, install CPU-z, verify the memory settings to confirm dual-channel operation, and either discard the old drives or sell them as needed.
