Hello.
I want to purchase the Intel Pentium G3258 due to its strong overclocked performance and good price.
I’m currently using an MSI B75MA-E33 (MS - 7808) motherboard and don’t plan to replace it.
I’m curious about the maximum possible CPU overclocking (in GHz) for this board.
Are there any other factors I should consider, such as RAM compatibility?
Additionally, I’m thinking about getting a cooling solution like Master Hyper 212 EVO.
Please assist me.

The MSI B75MA-E33 is an LGA 1155 socket board while the G3258 CPU uses an LGA1150 connector, making them incompatible. It won't function together. You might consider a compatible Intel Pentium G2130 3.2GHz Dual-Core processor at a similar price, though it will be slower.

Noted, the G2130 is a secured chip, allowing overclocking though with a locked CPU multiplier.

imsqam :
Just realized, the G2130 is a locked processor, you can still overclock but you have a locked CPU mulitplier.
Thanks man!
🙁
I think ill be buying i3-4170 then (if it's compatible with my MB) or build a AMD X4 860K pc (i hope i can reuse some parts from my current pc)

Hi,
Yes, the i3-4170 is indeed a socket 1150 CPU. Here’s a list of socket 1155 CPUs you might find:
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/parts/cpu/#k...=a7&page=1
Some are available new from sites like Newegg.com. Another option is purchasing a used processor on eBay. There are also many second-generation models to choose from.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/CPUs-Processors-...5573.m1684
And third-generation i5 CPUs are also available.
These alternatives can be found around the new i3s at a lower price.
If you search carefully, reputable sellers with solid return policies often list these items. You could also consider buying from private sellers if that suits you.
