Currently I'm using an i5 2400 with 3.5Ghz, but Intel XTU claims it can reach up to 3.8Ghz. Are those the only cores and is this safe?

the only cpu you can over clock in intels cpus generally are the ones with a k such as the i5-2500k
ref:
https://ark.intel.com/products/52207/Int...o-3_40-GHz
intel mentions the internal turbo mode for this i5-2400 is 3.4mhz not 3.8 and it operates automatically without needing overclocking.
additionally, which motherboard supports this 2500 model? unless it's a zxx series board, you're likely missing out on overclocking opportunities.

The Paladin:
the only cpu you can overclock in Intel's general case are the ones with a K, like the I5-2500K
ref:
https://ark.intel.com/products/52207/Int...o-3_40-GHz
Intel mentions that the internal turbo mode for this I5-2400 is 3.4Mhz, not 3.8, and it handles this automatically without external overclocking.
next, which motherboard supports this 2500 model? If it's not a Zxx series board, you're likely wasting your time trying to push performance beyond what the system allows.
my I5-2400 is already running at 3.5GHz with an overclock, giving a solid boost in performance
the theoretical max would be around 3.1Ghz, but since I'm getting an i9 from my friend and two 1080ti and an h110i, that setup should perform much better

The Paladin thought it would be nice to have friends like that.
Yeah, I'm really fortunate.
