In short, after the BIOS update for Skylake boards, non-K OC is no longer possible. I'm checking if I can install my DDR4 RAM (Corsair LPX) with an I5 6400 on an Asus Maximus VIII hero. This is my first build and I know a lot about PC specs. Please let me know if it uses BCLK and XMP profiles or similar options. Thanks!

Based on your motherboard, you can adjust the frequency to a faster rate, which may increase CAS latency. You might also consider applying XMP profiles for your Corsair RAM; they work well with the same setup.
