Do you have the capability to increase the clock speed of your i5 2500K at 3.3ghz? Although it's an older chip, I'm trying to push it while you wait for your new CPU.

I know your precise CPU and motherboard configuration in my Sandy Bridge build with a GTX 680 SLI setup (refer to my sig). It remains a solid performer after six years for 1080p gaming. To reach a mid-range speed of around 4.3GHz, you'll need components such as Cryorig's C7 cooler—offering good value.

The board works well for overclocking. Yes, you're able to do that. However, which new LGA 1155 CPU are you thinking of getting to power the GTX 1080? Perhaps an i7-3770K that's been overclocked, if you manage to find one without breaking the bank.
