The motherboard I’m considering only supports 1600mhz maximum.
If I had a DDR3 1600mhz and overclocked the i7 to 4.4ghz, would that affect the RAM as well?
Should I purchase a DDR3 1600mhz, lower it to 1333mhz, and then push the CPU further to reach 1600mhz?
There should be some performance problems, I suppose.
Or should I opt for a DDR3 2133MHZ with the same power ratings as 1600mhz, and let it run at the frequency Intel XMP sets after overclocking the i7?
I really apologize, but here’s what I’m trying to ask:
Can I overclock the CPU while keeping the RAM in its original speed without extra power usage from the RAM slot?
