I'm using an older ASUS B350 Prime Plus with AM4 MMO and planning to switch to an R5 3600 and 5700 XT. I'll be replacing my RAM with a 3200MHz model, keeping the PSU the same. I'm just worried about whether my motherboard can handle this power draw, especially since it's about four years old. No worries about getting into all the technical details—just concerned the board will work with the increased load. Cheers!
It might require a BIOS update to work with the new chip. I’m using a gigabyte AB350M gaming PCIe card for my first-gen Ryzen 1600X and intend to upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 7 second or third generation soon. Based on what I’ve seen, I’ll only need a BIOS update or flash to ensure compatibility with the newer processor.
The previous model shouldn't pose any concerns for these improvements.
