Hey guys, I just set up this new rig and want your thoughts. Is there anything you'd tweak or change? CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D running at 4.3 GHz with 16 cores. Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III with a 72.8 CFM fan attached. Motherboard: Gigabyte X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 on an ATX AM5 board. Memory: Crucial Pro 64 GB (split into two 32 GB sticks) using DDR5-5600 CL46 speed. Storage: Western Digital WD_Black SN850X, a 4 TB M.2 SSD that's PCIe 4.0 and NVMe. Graphics: Asus ROG Astral OC GeForce RTX 5080 with 16 GB video memory. Case: be quiet! Dark Base Pro 901 full tower. Power Supply: Corsair RM1000x, which is rated at 1000 watts and fully modular in 2024. Any advice would be awesome thanks for listening.

Aloha, this is my new system, what do you guys think? Anything you would change here? We're going to need more info. You're advised to stylize your thread with info asked of in this thread; *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice First off, respect where respect is due - this is an adaptation of the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* Sticky. I created this because there's a lot of posts nowadays asking for upgrade advice both on here and on the CPU forums, and I feel... forums. and the community can chime in with worthwhile suggestions pertaining to your predicament. On face value, the build looks good out of the box but you should change the ram to something like DDR5-6000MHz with tight latencies to get the most out of your AM5 platform. To note, look for ram that has AMD's E.X.P.O advertised on the package. I would add a smaller capacity SSD for the OS, app's and launchers assuming this PC is meant to be taxed primarily as a gaming system. If not, then add an HDD so you save your content if this is a content creation system.

AMD says that the top memory speed for this CPU is 5600Mhz. You can use two sticks of 1R type at 5600, or two sticks of 2R at 5600, and even four sticks of 1R running at 3600, or four sticks of 2R running at 3600.

You are looking for faster RAM (DDR5-6000 CL30) for your AM5 chips. If you just want to play games, swap out that CPU for an Intel 9800x3D and get the cooling fan down to a standard 360mm size instead of an AIO.

It's all about gaming! I got some extra memory (RAM) in and switched to a 5090 card because I want the strongest performance. Haha!

Check out a 1200-watt ATX power supply rated for 3.1. Do you live in a specific country?
