Can the Shuttle minipc be saved?
I aim to explore Home Assistant, and believe this shuttle PC is the simplest method to begin.
I will attempt that.
Because it is an older system, it lacks a specific option for this.
From what I understand, taking the button off the motherboard should work. I've tried clearing a CMOS this way before. Does it need to be removed temporarily, or will it occur immediately?
Tried it again, the battery was disconnected for at least 5 minutes.
Same outcome still occurs.
Well, it had been sitting in storage for roughly seven years until a few months ago. I decided to upgrade to a new gaming PC and wanted to test if my shuttle could handle Windows 10.
I transferred the SSD from my old gaming PC and installed it in the shuttle. It started up without issues, though it was extremely slow and ultimately unusable. Still, it managed to boot and function.
Next, I attempted to install Ubuntu on a freshly formatted SSD last week, as outlined in the previous post. Everything proceeded smoothly until the installation completed and required a reboot.
Now I’m at this point.
