Can the Asus ROG Phone run both Windows versions at the same time?
We've all heard about a Windows version that works with the Snapdragon 835 chip. With the HP Envy x2 already available and running that OS, it looks like some games can play. My interest grew even more when I learned the Asus ROG phone will use the same processor. I don't see much need for 512 GB of storage on a phone, let alone a dock that turns it into a powerful computer. What do you think? Will it support dual booting Windows 10? Or will we have to build it ourselves? Could this be a missed chance if it doesn't come?
Technically it's possible, but performance in Windows games will likely be poor. If the OS isn't available by default, adding it later will be difficult. Many systems need a signed bootloader, so you can't just run Windows normally.
It would be a huge waste of money. Avoiding that expense is wise. Paying 1000-1500$ for a phone to handle a poor Windows client isn't smart.
Perhaps I'm just getting really excited about this idea. I work as a JR system admin and have plenty of free time. Leaving work and switching phones during downtime would let me play some older games like Diablo 2 and others in that area. I've been searching for a pocket PC for a while. I was hoping for the GPD WIN 2, but it didn't meet my expectations. I'm sure someone will find a solution. A light would be perfect for me. You're right—I miss speaking. The ROG Phone supports 845, but running Windows 10 ARM on an 835 would be better. Thanks for all your feedback. I should manage my expectations and upgrade once the note runs out.
