I discovered this PC in the trash, and it’s my very first one. It has two Ethernet ports—one is finally connecting to the internet, while the other is plugged into an ATT MicroCell and doesn’t work for phone service. I can’t even call the Ghostbusters! The Networking section shows it as working, but it says “Unidentified.” When I shared it to the network, the internet on that port turned off, causing a loss of connection. My family is trying to reach me about my father in the hospital. Please help!

Ethernet connections for voice calls? Sounds like a time when phones ruled and the internet was still a distant dream. Back then, it was all about making calls or browsing—never both at the same time.

It connects to the internet when it detects a GPS signal, similar to Wi-Fi calling, but since the Wi-Fi is unstable at home and calls aren't working, we need a different solution in the woods.

It includes an Ethernet connection on the device and connects to the router/modem for internet access, but the specific port isn't recognized.

The MicroCell connects to your modem, not your PC as you remember. We used a model from my childhood; those seem to be retired. Updated: Locate the Quick Start Guide at the provided link. It states it should be placed in your router, not the modem or PC. https://www.att.com/att/microcell/downlo...tGuide.pdf Also confirmed it’s discontinued. Does your device support WiFi calling? https://forums.att.com/conversations/3g-...f606ab7dec

They still function, but now they use Wi-Fi calling. My Wi-Fi signal is weak inside the house, so I assumed the second port could help with networking. It worked once before, but recently it stopped responding. The wife moved router settings around, and it hasn’t been working properly. Maybe I should check the connection there.

You might want to preserve ports on your modem. For certain models, you can configure it as Modem->MicroCell->PC via the provided link.

I've never seen it before, we assumed the Cell would fit better in my room, I'm the only one with ATT there.

Have you ever solved it? Also, feel free to quote someone or mention @ them so we can track your response. Otherwise, we don’t see much.
