Different services are encouraging the use of passkeys over passwords, but I’m still confused about how they work. I want to know why a four-digit passkey feels as secure as a strong password and two-factor authentication. Google explains that with passkeys, your device will prompt for your Windows PIN or biometric data, confirming it’s you. I’d appreciate an explanation of what passkeys are and why they’re better than passwords. Please let me know if I’m missing something obvious. Thanks!
