Avoid this advice. The top CPU for that system is the 7700k, which is essentially the least threads required for games. Previous Ryzen models let you build a platform that remains relevant for years with solid upgrades.

Older Ryzen systems still carry a price tag. A basic setup with a motherboard, RAM, and CPU can cost around $200 on a solid day. For many, the upgrade journey isn’t worth it since they’ll likely move to a newer platform already. I kept this in mind—first-gen Ryzen doesn’t match the performance of 6th or 7th gen Intel, even though their IPC is similar. Their memory controller is also recognized for lower bandwidth compared to today’s Ryzen models.
