Here’s a revised version of your text:

I’m checking my current gaming setup and wondering if I can safely push the CPU to 5 GHZ. With the CPU cooler beneath me, there are four additional fans in total—two intake fans at the front and one at the top of the case, and two exhaust fans at the back and rear of the top. This is my first attempt at overclocking, so I’m mainly worried about damaging my rig.

I’d also like to try boosting my RAM to 3000 MHz, as the motherboard currently supports speeds up to 2000 or 2500. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Uncertain about why there appears to be a strong interest in the 5 GHz frequency, especially since many systems achieve 99% of that performance at just 4.7-4.9 GHz, particularly with GPUs under 5700XT or 2080 specifications. Do you have a Z370/390 series board? If not, we’ll move quickly. Assuming you do, start by checking your temperatures at stock clock speeds—use a tool that shows actual temps and speeds instead of just readings from HWMonitor. Then evaluate all-core MCE operation at 4.7 GHz, keeping an eye on the temperatures.

The 8700K is an excellent CPU for overclocking and reaching 4.9GHz across all cores, especially with adequate cooling. At around 5GHz, it remains quite manageable. If you're using a Z370 or Z390 motherboard, you should be able to locate online guides or videos on YouTube for overclocking assistance. Regarding your RAM, are you enabling XMP in the BIOS settings? What type of RAM do you currently have?
