I'm looking for a new laptop
my needs will involve intensive video editing and university work
this rog strix g15 seems suitable to me, but the only downside is using Windows 11 which I really don't want
so I've decided to install Windows 10 instead, although I've read many mixed opinions about whether it's feasible or not
some users say you can't turn off secure boot or TPM and thus can't boot from USB, while others can't even see the USB at all
i've installed Windows 10 on several computers before and never faced those problems, but I'm beginning to question if the TPM required by Windows 11 is causing too many issues for Windows 10 users
my question is: is it really achievable? anyone has done this on the Strix g15?
thanks and sorry again

Hello there, new member! It seems you're not interested in win11. You might prefer sticking with Windows 11, as it's the current direction.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m considering installing on Windows 10 and checking if it’s secure. Also, how can I set up a complete laptop backup?

You have the option to duplicate the drive or select specific data for transfer to a removable device such as a thumb drive or portable SSD/HDD.

I'm not sure about the Windows 10 installation process. I believe Windows updates are good at identifying the drivers required.

Windows updates should be quite effective in identifying the necessary drivers. This has been a longstanding issue, causing frustration for users on Windows 10 and newer versions, as well as some older systems. The operating system mistakenly assumes these are the correct drivers for your setup. It is recommended to install all relevant drivers manually, after obtaining them from the manufacturer's support website.

FYI, the support page for your laptop lacks Windows 10 in the dropdown menu.

Did you really just press that drop-down option? It only displays two service manuals in both French and English, with no drivers available.
