Hello, i am just starting to use this site and have a question for you all to assist me. I recently purchased a GTX 770, but my current PSU only has 4 pins and an extra one. My GTX 770 requires a 4-pin and an 8-pin connector. Is there any component that can be used to make it compatible with the 8-pin connector?

Hello, I'm new to this site and have a question for you all. I recently bought a GTX 770, but my PSU only has 4 pins and another pin. My card requires a 4-pin and an 8-pin connector. Is there any component that can replace it so I can use the 8-pin connector? I'm not familiar with a 770 model having a 12-pin PCIe port.

I just bought a GTX 770 and have a question. My PSU only has four pins, but the card requires a 4-pin and an 8-pin connector. Can I find a component to upgrade it to an 8-pin connector? I also heard nothing about a 12-pin PCIe port on this model.
I believe you meant a 6-pin and 8-pin adapter, which would require upgrading the PSU for safe power delivery. I don’t suggest using Molex connectors as they’re not reliable.
A suitable option looks like this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a...-_-Product
I’ve used a Windforce 770 with an EVGA 500W unit for a while without problems. A 500W PSU should work well without costing more than 80 USD. I’d recommend this link: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a...-_-Product
