Hello everyone, just wondering,
Are there any plugins, settings, or apps for social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram that could filter content in my profile? That way, when I visit my profile page or click a link, it would direct me to the specific social media page without showing other pages. This would help me avoid seeing unwanted items, especially snakes. With today's technology, I believe it should be possible. Cheers

I'm not sure what you're referring to.
Are you wondering about methods to modify the displayed content while swiping? (I assume you're using a mobile device, because on PC one can't swipe in FB or Instagram.)
I don't understand how it works on mobile, but on desktop and in FB, it's possible to hide posts you don't want to see. This helps the platform learn what content you prefer and limit it. However, completely blocking specific content would require changing the whole platform, which the end user cannot do.

I am a person who experiences a strong fear of snakes, similar to others who have intense phobias.
When I try to use social media, I often glance at some content. My only choice seems to be pausing, hiding the screen with paper, and choosing "Not Interested" to see if the system influences my view.

There could be an opposite outcome. Even when people say they aren't interested, their actions still show engagement, and the sources might keep sending similar images regardless of what's on the page. Just try to ignore the pages as much as possible. Many individuals experience varying levels of snake phobia. I personally haven’t had it, but I’ve met those who do. Tackle the issue head-on—don’t depend on technology. Seek someone to discuss and work through the fear. Understanding more about snakes can really help. You might have tried this before; give it another go. Knowing the distinction between harmless and dangerous snakes has benefited many. Your comment caught my eye because of a small "first aid" project I was involved in last week. It won’t scare you with the specifics, but I discovered that some long-held beliefs are not only incorrect but potentially harmful. These are just my thoughts.

Well, at least for me, on FB and on PC, when I choose "Not Interested", the platform indicates it will reduce the visibility of that non-interested content for me. So far, the things I've hidden haven't reappeared for me.

On the other hand, since I live in the EU, perhaps due to strict EU regulations, FB actually follows its stated rules. The situation in other regions is unclear to me.

Either try the "Not Interested" option, or avoid using the social media platform altogether if you're aware of such content.

Yeah, you're human. I suspect AI wouldn't discuss this with us here (though you never know 🤔).

As for phobias, there isn't a social media filter that lets users completely block something based on their phobia. There are many different phobias—fear of men, fear of women, fear of cars, fear of grass, etc.—and even a phobia about having a phobia exists.

Personally, I don’t cope well with anything beyond ground level. When I'm on the edge and look down, I feel lightheaded. It’s not a full-blown phobia, but I tend to stay below that point (or avoid going higher than ground level).

My wife, however, has a specific phobia: she panics when moths appear, especially large grey ones like *Agrius convolvuli*. Whenever they fly in during summer nights with windows open and lights on, she screams in panic and runs away. I have to gently coax the moth back out, while she tries to stay as far from that room as possible. She doesn’t fear butterflies at all.
