Hey Guys, I am wanting to OC my CPU, I've seen online that you can combfortably get the i7-9700k to 5GHz Here is my setup: Motherboard: MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PLUS i7-9700k + Corsair Water cooling 16GB DDR4 MSI 3080 1 24" 1440p monitor 1 21" 1080p Monitor 2 SSD's 1 HDD EVGA SuperNova G1 750w PSU - https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-SuperNOVA-...B0797HL9Z4 I am wanting to OC my CPU only, not looking to do anything with the 3080, for now at least, just not sure if my PSU is ok to do this with or if I should get a new one before doing so.

No big deal, mate, and yes, you are all set. I'd suggest using Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility because it does its own job well and is super useful, whether you are new to overclocking or if you have been doing it before, it makes things much easier for you.

You didn't tell me about your motherboard. The most crucial thing for overclocking on Intel chips is the board, specifically the Z series model. Also, make sure your power supply unit is great and strong enough because it's way more than you might think you need to push those CPU speeds.

No worries man, yes you are ready to start. I'd suggest Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU), and it is a program that automatically boosts your processor speed without needing much effort. It works really well if you are new at overclocking, but even seasoned users find it very convenient for their jobs.

Nice stuff, I'll check if my motherboard has it built in and try it out, thanks!
