You can still manage the CPU utilization to stay around 50 to 100%. I've tried this before and am now looking for default xtu profiles to fix the issue. Although it might help temporarily, I don't think it's a good long-term solution. It's reached a point where I can't produce a track with 40 channels or more without my software crashing or damaging my computer. The i5 7200u is especially problematic, so I wouldn't worsen the situation further like I did before.
