Can i overclock my cpu safely?
I own a CPU that's an AMD FX 4300 with a clock speed of 3.8ghz (idle range 12-20°C, gaming 38-51.6°C). The GPU is an MSI GTX 1050 2GDL OC (idle 32-35°C, gaming 55-61°C). The motherboard is an ASUS M5A78L-M Plus/USB (idle 1 38°C, idle 2 40°C, gaming temp 1 52°C, temp 2 41°C). My cooling solution is a Zalman CNPS7000V (AL)-1-P. The RAM is Patriot 1TB 8GB at 1600MHz (PSD38G16002). The power supply provides 500 watts. My tower model is an Aero-500 ATX midtower black edition. I've learned that a 212 cooler might be too tall for this case. All temperatures seem safe without overclocking, and it would be safe to consider overclocking to 4.0ghz or even 4.2ghz if needed. Although my cooler isn't the best, it performs better than the stock.
4GHz should be fine, but the cooler likely won't support reaching 4.2GHz. You'll need a cooler with several heat pipes and a large fan.
