I own an i5 6600 with 8x2g of G.Skill RAM and a Sapphire Radeon rx 470 4g OC on a Gigabyte H170 gaming motherboard. I'm curious about its capabilities and whether it's safe to overclock. It will run on an Evga 750w SuperNOVA P2, which is still pending delivery. Currently, it has a Cougar stx650 that doesn't allow smooth gameplay like Skyrim. -.-

Yes, it's a problem. The CPU is locked on a board that doesn't allow overclocking.
That's not ideal, especially since you just built your first PC.
It means you won't be able to increase its speed beyond the default settings.

There is a secured processor on a board that does not allow overclocking.

Do you think having a locked CPU on a non-overclocking board is problematic? I just assembled this for the first time a few days ago.
