Hi Folks,
I'm not a RAM expert, but I'm currently using an i5 9400f/6700xt setup. Recently, playing KCD2 or ETS 2 with heavy mods has caused me some headaches regarding memory usage. I'm already at around 15-15.6 GB while keeping everything closed. I've considered adding another pair of 8GB RAM sticks to fill the remaining slots.

Anyone with experience in mixing RAM speed and timing would be helpful. I'm sticking with the same brand, preferably Kingston HyperX.

Since this old CPU is capped at 2666 MHz, it shouldn't cause too much trouble? A 3200 MHz RAM stick on a single 8GB slot only costs about $20 here. I can't find anything cheaper.

My current setup looks like:
KHX2666C13/8GX
KHX2666c16/8G
These sticks are still mismatched, but they work fine with my motherboard H370, which advertises 2666 MHz. I plan to upgrade with two more sticks:
2x KF432C16BB/8

A straightforward response would be no, avoid combining different kits. Ensure you use the same set.
Anyone familiar with adjusting ram speed and timing? Check the forums—most instability problems come from mixing and matching kits.
My motherboard is H370. What model of your motherboard do you have? Also, what BIOS version is installed?

I’d be in agreement, having more memory of the same type and part numbers would help. Mixing might be possible; I currently have an AM4 PC with Adata 3200 CL 16 and Adata 3600 CL 18, running at XMP for the 3200 model and it’s stable. At Jedec speeds it should work, though it carries a risk to your budget. Since DDR 4 memory is increasingly difficult to find, prices are rising too. Would you consider extending your budget to 2 x 16GB?
