Did you just install Win 11 or move from Windows 7 to 10 and now to 11? Look at your event logs and see if there are any errors or warnings.

Yeah, it is a brand new Dell computer. Someone put the operating system on it.

Yes, seems to be something buggy about 11. Lord knows what. I appreciate your efforts at trying to figure it out!

Someone online told me to fix my Windows 11 if nothing else works. It sounds crazy for a small problem on a new computer, but I'm pretty new to tech stuff. Do you think that's a good idea?

I've never seen this problem before, so I decided to try it. My computer is Win 11 Pro with 64GB of RAM. Full details are in my signature under Viper. There are various SSDs with about 3,219 files and a total of 1.11GB. Most of them are jpg, but there are also gif, pdf, png, and webp. I copied these to a new folder on a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO drive that has never had this issue before. After putting the files in this brand-new folder, when I double-clicked it, large icons opened within 1.5 seconds. Changing them to extra large also worked instantly.

I've noticed something strange before, like an old video card problem. I need to know what computer graphics card my machine has and if the software for it is current or not.

Thank you so much for sharing this! It really points to a problem with my Windows 11 setup. I'm just trying to find out exactly what's causing it.

Thanks a lot, but I have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. I just got and put on the newest driver from Dec. 4, and nothing changed for me.
