I know the i3 9100f is locked so I tried to push it overclock in the BIOS anyway. I have an asrock B365 hdv board and I'm going to share some pics from the overclock tab that show up in my bios utility.

The only real fix for that locked BIOS/CPU combo is bumping the BCLK and going into overclocks. That's not super helpful on its own, but it definitely throws everything off since it's messing up the bus speed.

Could they simply lock every core down to max turbo speed? It sounds like a good idea, though I think we'll probably need an expensive new board to make that work.

The only real thing you can actually tweak with a locked BIOS and CPU is the BCLK overclock. That upgrade isn't super helpful in general, but it can completely ruin things since changing the bus clock is risky.
