I wasn't expecting to check, but could I try overclocking my i5-6500? The Intel site mentioned it can run at a higher turbo frequency—3.6 MHz instead of 3.2 MHz. My motherboard is an ASUS PRIME -H270- PLUS.

You can turn it on with full-core boost, but after that you're stuck with BCLK overclocking. Small tweaks won't help much, and stability is probably a problem.
I think a Z-series board would be needed for this.

Would using all core boost necessitate a Z-series module? If not, does the core boost function merely as an enable/disable setting within the BIOS?
