Can I get a f?What are the chances I can fix this? (3900x)
Purchased a 3900x with bent pins and wondering if they can be straightened again. Are there any experts available for this repair?
Get a very thin, long tool like a knife blade and a small flat-headed screwdriver. If possible, bring along a magnifying glass. Use the screwdriver to gently straighten the pins as much as you can. Once they’re all vertical, use the knife blade to align them, using any existing straight pins as guides.
I made even more issues. If parts sit flat on the green board, they’ll probably break when you twist them. And it’s not a good idea to warm them up—those solder pads won’t hold.
I've adjusted the pins using VISA cards, but it hasn't been that bad before. As long as they're intact, it's fixable. Even if some are damaged, you might be lucky and they won't affect the overall result. Give them a bit more attention and gently bend them, then try aligning them with something like a VISA card.
As long as the pins are attached to the board you're good. Even if they get detached there's technically still a chance, but then there's some very tricky soldering involved. The most important thing is, go slow. pin by pin, no rushing, one pin at a time and then at one point you've got all of them back in place.
I believe it could work. I employ medical tweezers and a magnifier. This gives you much better control compared to using a pick or razor to remove the pins.
