It is a major upgrade, but you'll have to ditch that RAM. You'll need a new DDR4 kit, while FX ran on a DDR3 one.

Thanks a lot
😀
Looking to save up $500, right? That’s AUD 😬
Do you know any site for buying used computer parts?
Also, is this RAM quality?
PNY XLR8 RGB 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 3600MHz — if so, should I buy it now while it's on sale?

The memory is fine, but to prevent issues later, I would prioritize choosing the motherboard and verify which memory models have been confirmed compatible.

Additionally, because your chip is locked, you might want to look into using lower clocked RAM (2666 MHz or less; exceeding this would be unnecessary).

Do you think it's worth choosing one 16gb stick instead of two 8gb sticks? It seems like a better deal, and I'm just looking for a motherboard now.

Using two sticks can slightly improve performance, especially when the cost difference isn't significant, so consider getting two.

When it comes to gaming, using more than one stick is generally discouraged. Some individuals continue to be bitten due to performance reasons.
