Can I boost the performance of an i5 6500 on the Z270 motherboard?
Mago Magico:
I intend to purchase a Z270 board if I can achieve overclocking on an i5 6500. I plan to upgrade to a 7th generation in six months, but first I need to verify if any Z270 boards support overclocking. Only CPUs with a K at the end of their name have unlocked multipliers that allow overclocking. However, an i5 6500 can be overclocked by adjusting the base clock, bus rate, or BCLK—though these are essentially the same settings.

You're able to adjust the bus speed. In practice, you won't really feel any change, so it's best to wait for the update.
