Can a PS3 be converted to run on Windows?
I often thought about my old PS3, can it turn into a computer or a desktop? It had HDMI for the screen and sound, and two USB ports. When I connected them to a mouse and keyboard, it worked perfectly. So... it had all the necessary components. But how can I format it? Is there a CD-USB option? I don’t know why. Is it worth it? How do I change the operating system? Is it stored on a hard drive? Should I replace its HDD with a new SSD and install Windows, it should work fine? What do you think? Thanks. P.S. Sorry for my English mistakes.
If it's old enough, it can operate a certain Linux version, but it won't work with Windows.
No. No. And definitely no. The final Windows version that supported PPC was NT4.0 SP1, and you couldn't even install it on a PPC Mac. You can run it on a PS3. There might be a Homebrew app that works with x86/AMD64, but it's a virtual machine and won't actually run on Windows.
You can install Linux on it if it's the original PS3 model. A Windows setup won't work.
