Can a computer with 4GB RAM and a GTX 1050 Ti handle Apex Legends without experiencing freezing issues?
Here’s a description of my computer setup: an Intel Core i5 7400K with 8GB of RAM (two 4GB sticks), and a Zotac Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti. Recently, one of my 4GB RAM modules completely failed without warning, and I can’t replace it due to shipping restrictions. I'm wondering if I’ll be able to play Apex Legends on low settings smoothly, or if I absolutely need a new RAM module. Thank you!
Based on my knowledge, 4GB is generally insufficient, even with multimedia use under Windows 10 due to its high RAM demands; however, 8GB provides ideal performance for your system. It’s important to note that if the RAM becomes full, it will begin swapping data to the hard drive, resulting in significant speed reductions and accelerated wear on an SSD – particularly if that's your primary storage device. I also believe that 4GB is almost a safeguard against experiencing this swapping phenomenon.
Your computer’s memory capacity is insufficient; game recommendations advise at least 6GB of RAM. However, I recommend adding a single 4GB stick. You should be able to achieve 30-40 frames per second on 1080p resolution with this setup for Apex Legends.
