You should consider switching to the fiber plan if it offers better value for your needs.

Keep cable. Unless you do math differently where you're from. Long version: Fiber shouldn't give you any better ping, or uptime. Cable for me has been extremely reliable, and my fibre as well. I consider them equal performers for all intents, unless you have some odd requirement that you're not telling us.

Yeah, the cable option is more affordable and quicker, and you probably don’t upload much unless you need it.

The numbers suggest the cable performs well most of the time, but reliability drops significantly when it fails. Fiber offers more consistent results compared to traditional cables.

Using the full fiber connection ensures greater stability compared to sharing with others.

You reside in Atlanta and its surrounding areas, where consistent performance remains unaffected by the time of day. It might simply be Comcast's strong cable offerings. In reality, they provide 20% more bandwidth than what is promised in contracts. I received 180Mbps for a $150 plan and 360Mbps for a $300 plan. While I dislike their customer service, their internet connection is reliable.

Main hours of activity and rainy weather patterns have been consistent across regions. In the US, these trends often overlap with evening and nighttime, especially during storms.

You retained details that influence our advice. Rain impacts underground wiring too—though the exact effect on surface lines isn't clear.
