C6 Issue – Memory or Board Problem?
Hey everyone, welcome back. I'm just getting started with this setup. I've assembled four machines using Asus TRX40 Pro boards, each equipped with 32GB of 4x8GB memory at 3200MHz DDR4. Everything worked fine until the fourth machine booted up and displayed 'C6' instead of the expected status. I thought it was a memory issue, so I cleared everything and tried different configurations, but the problem persisted. I only connected the PSU cables, one NVMe drive, and one memory DIMM. Despite those changes, the board still shows C6. My concern is whether the issue lies with the memory or the board itself. Thanks for your advice! The memory model I'm using is Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16W Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3200 MHz C16 XMP 2.0.
If C6 is a memory issue and testing with functional RAM from another configuration doesn’t fix it, it may indicate a motherboard problem such as a faulty slot or memory controller. Check if the board supports BIOS flashing via USB without being in BIOS mode, and perform a CMOS reset if needed.
Certainly, I understand you're suggesting a memory issue, though it seems the actual problem might lie elsewhere.
These are the error codes for memory issues. Are you certain it was C6? It doesn’t mention anything about it, could you share a photo?
I need to remember the BIOS settings while connecting through USB. Thanks for the help!
