I was attempting to purchase games on Steam, but my credit card was being rejected by Valve. My dad contacted customer service, and it seems Steam has been placed on a blacklist by the State Bank of India. They reported many complaints against the bank, which led to Steam being added to the list. Could this be a common issue or just a personal experience? State Bank of India is owned by the government, so I’m curious—am I seeing something unusual?

Hi there, I use Steam and pay with my SBI card. I have a SBI global debit card and asked my bank branch to enable international transactions. I’m hoping this works for you too. Sometimes I also use my regular IDBI Rupay debit card for online purchases and requested them to allow international transfers as well.

I believe it will function properly after enabling international transaction support and using the updated card with the EMV chip.

I've tested ICICI VISA and HDFC MasterCard debit cards effectively. International transactions seem active on both platforms. I recall some ICICI cards don't integrate with Steam, so as a backup you could purchase gift cards to top up your wallet—this worked for me once before discovering my card functioned normally.

Yes, you can simply order a Steam gift card online or purchase it in person at a store.

In America these items are found in supermarkets and convenience stores, often with gift cards available. I’m not sure how it’s done in India.

Sure, India has advanced regions comparable to the US, so if someone is there, they could locate stores offering similar products.

Certainly, instead of gift cards found in American shops, you can use platforms that offer codes to deposit money into your account.

Contact your bank regarding the previous attempt to purchase a blade and soul gold. Your transaction was declined, but after reaching out, everything functioned properly.
